Jeannette Still

Jeannette Still was born October 14, 1895 in Tonganoxie, Kansas.

She married Edward Otto Freienmuth on December 20, 1923 in Lawrence, Kansas. They had three children, Edward Still Freienmuth, Eda Jane Freienmuth, and Byron Otto Freienmuth. They moved to Colorado in 1926.

Jeannette was a registered nurse and lived in Colorado for 40 years. During her nursing career she worked at the Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood, California, for six years and for four years she was supervisor of nurses there. She also nursed in the Del Norte and Monte Vista hospitals and had served as school nurse in several Valley schools. Prior to her retirement in 1963 she was nurse for the Monte Vista schools for two years.

She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church and was active in several fraternal and social organizations. She was a member and past president of Chapter V, P.E.O., a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and retained her membership in the Tonganoxie Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the San Luis Valley Nurses Association and the group honored her by naming her nurse of the year from this district in 1963.

Jeannette died January 14, 1967 in Monte Vista, Colorado and is buried in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
