Mrs. Eda Freienmuth

Mrs. Eda Freienmuth, 72, resident of Tonganoxie for many years, died yesterday in Leavenworth at the home of her daughter, Alma Freienmuth, with whom she had lived in recent years. She was a sister of Otto Fischer and a daughter of Julius Fiscner, pioneer Lawrence merchant. Born in Johnson county, she came to Lawrence as a little girl and lived here until her marriage to William Freienmuth, who operated a fruit farm near Tonganoxie until his death 15 years ago.

Funeral services will be held at the home in Leavenworth Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at the Tonganoxie cemetery.

Mrs. Freienmuth is also survived by a son, Hans Freienmuth of Tonganoxie, another brother, Karl Fischer of El Paso, Tex., and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Eda Freienmuth Dies

Resided On a Large Farm North of Tonganoxie For More Than 42 Years.

Mrs. Eda Freienmuth, age 71, died Wednesday afternoon at her home at 1321 South Broadway, Leavenworth, where she had lived for the past ten years with her daughter, Mis Alma. She had been seriously ill for some time. Funeral services will be held at the home in Leavenworth Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Dr. Robinson Shepher of the First Congregational Church, Leavenworth, in charge. Burial and grave-side services will be held at Maple Grove cemetery at Tonganoxie.

Mrs. Freienmuth was the daughter of Julius and Teckla Fischer, and was born near DeSoto, Kans., Sept. 6, 1867. She would have been 72 years of age at her next birthday. The family moved to Lawrence where she grew up, and where she was married to William Freienmuth in 1885. Several years later the family moved to Tonganoxie, and to the farm and orchard, north of this city, in 1890. In this fine farm home she reared her family and lived for 42 years, going to Leavenworth in 1929 where she has since resided with her daughter, Alma.

Her husband died in 1925, a son, Otto, died in 1933 and two children in infancy. Two children, Hans of Tonganoxie and Alma of Leavenworth, survive, as well as two brothers, Otto Fischer, Lawrence, Karl Fischer, El Paso, Texas; and five grandchildren, Leland and Shirley Ann Freienmuth of Tonganoxie; Edward, Jane and Byron Freienmuth of Alamosa, Colo. Mrs. Freienmuth was a charter member of Sunshine Grange here, and of the Order of the Eastern Star. A good wife, mother and friend has gone to her reward.
