Charles Arthur McCoy

Charles A. McCoy, 85, Leavenworth, died February 11, 1988, at the Medicalodge of Leavenworth.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 13, at the Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery at Whiting.

Mr. McCoy was born March 4, 1902, at Oneida, a son of Archie and Nina Shortridge McCoy.

He was a farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 55 and the Retired Eagles Activity Club.

He was married to Thelma McCoy, who died in 1979. He then married Genevieve Smock on February 7, 1981. She survives at home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Avis Keithley of Underwood, Iowa; nine stepchildren; a brother, Oliver McCoy of Oneida; two sisters, Ruth Alley of Olathe, and Myrtle Deaver of Osceola, Iowa; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Niccum.
